DESTINATION WEDDING IN ANDALUSIA
Sun, beach, mountains, whitewashed houses, geranium courtyards, monumental and architectural richness, gastronomy, culture… Getting married in Andalusia is an option increasingly demanded by couples who want to have a destination wedding. Our Andalusian cities have a lot to offer for you in order to enjoy an unforgettable wedding.
From Huelva to Almeria, passing through Cadiz and Malaga, Andalusia has more than 800 km of coast with beaches the Caribbean could wish for. It’ s a region of contrasts as in a few kilometres you can go from the beach to the mountains in Granada, or from a green and leafy natural park to the most arid desert in Almeria.
The south of Spain, besides enjoying many hours of sun and light, has a wonderful climate to get married at any time of the year. The annual average temperature in Andalusia is over 16-18ºC, being the coldest month January and the hottest July and August.
Andalusians can presume of many things, but certainly one of the most important is our exquisite and wide gastronomy. A salmorejo from Cordoba, fried fish from Cadiz, white shrimp from Huelva, olive oil from Jaen (our liquid gold), sardines from Malaga, wines from Jerez de la Frontera or our popular tapa of sirloin in whisky at the bars of Seville. Better not tell you more that it is giving me hunger.
When you choose a destination wedding, besides taking into account other factors, if the chosen location has a great offer of activities for your guests it’ a great plus-point. In Andalusia your guests will be able to walk along the beach, do aquatic activities, enjoy a horse ride, visit the historical centre of our cities, go hiking in the mountains, taste our wines on oenological routes… among many other activities. What more could you ask for?

WHY HAVING A WEDDING DESTINATION IN ANDALUSIA
Whether you are from Barcelona or Pontevedra but you want to have your wedding in Cadiz, as if you are from Wisconsin and want to get married in Seville, what you need is to have a destination wedding. Why? And I will answer “why not”. Why not having the wedding you’ve always dreamed of, getting your family and friends on a plane and enjoying a holiday with a wedding included. Sounds like a great plan to me.
One of the reasons to have a destination wedding is that you can choose a neutral location. If your family wants it to be in your country, and your partner’s family wants it to be in theirs, or you live in opposite cities in the same country, a destination wedding will avoid arguments and make one of the two families uncomfortable. This option is ideal for international couples, if it’ s your case don’t rule it out yet. I´m telling you all its benefits.

ADVANTAGES OF A DESTINATION WEDDING IN ANDALUSIA
Travel
If you love to travel and live new adventures, a destination wedding is for you. Traveling is one of the main advantages of this type of wedding. You discover a new place, a new country, you get to know its culture, traditions, gastronomy… and you take advantage, to do tourism.
Unique experience
Your city will never offer you this kind of experience. Celebrating one of the most important and happy days of your life in an idyllic place, with a landscape and a climate totally different from what you are used to, has no comparison.
Intimate wedding
This is a great advantage. As each guest has to pay for their own travel and perhaps part of their accommodation, firstly you won’t have any guests by commitment and secondly, only the most important people for you and who really don’t want to miss it, will attend. Thanks to this you will see your guest list reduced, making the organization of the wedding much easier.
The price decreases
As crazy as it may seem, considering that you will have to pay for a trip plus several days’ accommodation, this type of wedding can be more economical. We expect that there will be fewer guests, which reduces the largest cost of a wedding: the catering. And many hotels have special prices and very interesting offers for destination weddings. Think about it!
Enjoy more time with your guests
Yes, you read it right. When you have to travel, at least you arrive the day before the wedding and your guests too. You can have a welcome cocktail as a pre-wedding. As it’s an intimate wedding, you can chat with everyone. And the day after, before everyone leaves for their destination, you can organize some activities around the city and say goodbye with a wonderful brunch or lunch. Anyone giving more?
Incredible photos
You’ll get a souvenir photo shoot of your spectacular wedding. If I already told you the amount of options you have in Andalusia in terms of beautiful landscapes, having a professional to immortalize your wedding is the best.
Wedmoons: wedding + honeymoon
Celebrating the wedding and starting the honeymoon in that destination can be a great success, both economically and socially, as you can even ask your guests (or just some of them) to join you in the first days of your honeymoon. This will be part of your holidays that year and you will enjoy a few more days in their company visiting new cities. It’s like a 2×1.
Say goodbye to stress
In order for a destination wedding to be possible you need to have a professional helping you in the destination city. And that’s where the fairy godmothers come in: the wedding planner.
With your wedding planner you will not have to worry about anything because it will all be in the best hands. We take care of offering you the options that best fit your wishes and budget, so that you only have to choose the one you like the most. You will save money, time, unnecessary trips and above all you will gain peace of mind.

REQUIREMENTS FOR MARRYING ABROAD
Getting married in Andalusia will require more paperwork than in your city, that’s for sure. But if you call the consulate or embassy of the country where you are getting married you will be able to solve many of your doubts.
Before deciding on the city and country where you are going to get married, you will need to check and have clear all the documentation you need to bring with you. It is also very important to know how you will be able to legalize the marriage back in your country.
In most countries you will need to provide a birth certificate, certificates that you are single and at least a couple of witnesses. And if there are different languages involved you will also need a certified translation of all the documents. Don’t forget.
AND AFTER EVERYTHING I'VE TOLD YOU, YOU DARE TO GET MARRIED IN ANDALUSIA?
If you need it, you can ask me anything you want about destination weddings.
